New Tech Kites
A Look at the Latest in New Tech Kites
Over the
course of three thousand years, kites have remained a
staple in the lives of a good many people. While
there have been some changes to kites over the years, in
many ways the basic elements and designs of kites remains
essentially the same. There are some companies that
produce more high tech kites in this day and age. One
such company is
New Tech Kites.
New Tech Kites is a designer, manufacturer and wholesaler
of traditional kites, sport kites and kiting
accessories. They have been in business for over
fourteen years and they build quality single line sport
kites. New Tech Kites offer kite designs from some of
the world’s greatest kite designers including Dodd Gross,
Martin Lester, Kathy Goodwind and others. Because of
their innovative designs and quality manufacturing, New
Tech Kites was awarded Manufacturer of The Year in 2002 by
Kite Trade Association International.
Some of New Tech Kites unique designs are the Smithsonian
Institution licensed replica airplane kite, modeled after
the real Spitfire airplane of yesteryear. Another of
New Tech’s kites is the Mirage. The Mirage is a delta
conyne, a cross between a plain delta (a triangular flat
wing) and a conyne, which is a French box kite that is
triangular rather than square. The delta conyne is
renowned for it low-wind performance and is ideal in spotty
wind conditions and are popular on beaches, country fields
and in city parks.
New Tech really hit the target recently, with their new
entry level kite that delivers great performance, combined
with great price. Dodd Gross has designed the Cherry
Bomb for New Tech’s 2005 line up. Unlike so many entry-
level kites, The Cherry Bomb is heavily reinforced.
It has a carbon frame and is a simple assembly for the
novice. It retails for $35 to $45 and has no competition in
its category for quality, performance and pricing.
New Tech Kites is likely to remain on the cutting edge of
kite innovation on into the future, according industry
analysts.
