Flying Kites: A Rite of Passage Throughout the course of a person’s lifetime there are a few experiences that are known to be rites of passage. Indeed, by flying kites, an adult can be reminded of the simple, pleasurable elements of life that oftentimes are lost in the hustle and bustle of daily living. Flying kites, while serving as a rite of passage, is also a true respite from the weary world for many wanderers. Because a rite of passage represents moving forward into new life experiences after mastering the past, flying kites truly symbolizes and stands for such a transitional experience.
